In this article published in 5280 Magazine, Bishop Kym describes her vision for Colorado congregations to more fully reflect the radical welcome of Jesus.

Planning for a Yard Sale

OMS is making preparations for a yard sale as a fund-raiser. The date should be established soon - look for more information on our events page. In the meantime, we’re asking for donations of clothes, shoes, furniture, household goods, and crafts in good condition for resale. Talk to Father Cesar about storage available until the event. Don’t have any items to donate? We’re also planning to have refreshments available, so donations of food, soft drinks, or baked goods are also appreciated.

Spanish Hymnal in Production

After nearly a decade of preparation, publication of a Spanish Hymnal for The Episcopal Church is anticipated in Spring 2020. The hymnal, called Un Nuevo Amanecer, meaning “a new dawn” will draw from traditions from Mexico, Central America, the Caribbean, South America, and Spain. There will be hymns for all seasons of the church year, such as Christmas, Epiphany, Lent, Easter, and Pentecost. Other hymns are available to support various aspects of church life, such as baptism, first communion, confirmation, quinceañeras, marriage, or funerals. Some hymns will also be available in English, which will simplify having bilingual services. OMS’s Laurie Zant is a member of the national committee preparing the hymnal.
